LIFE has gone a long way since its start in 1992 and today turns thirty! We want to celebrate the most impactful EU funding instrument for the environment and climate action with an interview with Gustav Frid.
When we decided to apply to LIFE call in 2020, we had one thing clear in mind: we want to tackle big problems like waste and EoL! Do you know how to dismantle a wind farm? How to manage turbine blades (19 meters with a weight of some 2 tons each… huge, uh?) when they become “old”?
LIFE CarbonGreen supports greening Europe in the circular economy because we can manage different materials with our technology.
Ensuring a future for all requires being brave: we gathered brilliant scientists, experts, big companies, and start-ups to work together, sharing knowledge, building new technologies, and experimenting with solutions no matter how we could possibly fail.

About LIFE
The LIFE programme is the EU’s environmental and climate action funding mechanism. It has been in operation since 1992 and has co-financed over 5,500 projects in both EU and non-EU countries. The LIFE initiative will get €5.4 billion in financing from 2021 to 2027. Nature and biodiversity, circular economy and quality of life, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and clean energy transition are the four new LIFE sub-programmes.
